The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with veteran free agent safety Darren Sharper, according to a league source. Sharper last played for the Minnesota Vikings and visited the Saints after the free agent signing period commenced. According to NFL.com, Sharper recorded 69 tackles and one interception last season. The 33-year-old is entering his 13th NFL season and has 564 career tackles and 54 interceptions. UPDATE: The Saints have announced that Sharper has officially signed. “We are pleased to announce the addition of Darren to our team,” Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis said in a statement. “Darren is an accomplished veteran player that brings a wealth of knowledge and ability to our secondary and has always possessed outstanding instincts and playmaking skills.”
