The Charlotte Observer reports that the Panthers will host safety Haruki Nakamura for a free agent visit on Thursday.
Nakamura, 25, was known better for his special teams than defensive play in Baltimore over the past four seasons. The former Cincinnati Bearcat tied for second on the Ravens in special teams tackles last year.
Nakamura recently told the Carroll County Times, however, that he wants to start.
The Panthers’ starting safeties are Sherrod Martin and Charles Godfrey.
