TEBUCKY JONES GETS PROBATION

Former Patriots, Saints and Dolphins safety Tebucky Jones was sentenced to one year of probation Friday in connection with an incident at a Connecticut casino this summer. Jones had initially been charged with assault, breach of peace and fourth-degree sexual assault after police said he had “inappropriate contact” with a woman in the Mohegan Sun casino lobby and then punched the woman’s boyfriend. Prosecutors agreed to drop the sexual assault charge and will drop the other charges if he completes his year of probation. Jones was the Patriots’ first-round draft pick in 1998. He played for the Saints in 2003 and 2004 and for the Dolphins in 2005.
