Terrell Owens catches his 1,000th pass

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens became the sixth player in NFL history to catch 1,000 passes in his career Sunday in the Bills’ 31-3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Owens had four catches for 39 yards to join Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison, Cris Carter, Tim Brown and Isaac Bruce in the 1,000-catch club.

I just go out and play the game,” Owens said afterward. “I’m blessed to be able to play this game and to play it at a productive level.”

The game actually could have featured two different players reaching the 1,000-catch mark, as Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez entered the game with 994. But Gonzalez left the game with a calf injury just before halftime and is currently at 996.
