The Cardinals’ playoff chances are dim at 4-5-1, but they expect to have a key defensive piece back in the lineup as they try to start the uphill climb to the postseason in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon.
The team listed eight players as questionable for the game, but Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said that wide receiver Michael Floyd, who has a hamstring injury, is the only one he expects to be a game-time decision. He added, via Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, that the others should all play.
That group includes safety Tyrann Mathieu, who has missed the last two games with a shoulder injury. Mathieu’s presence should help the Cardinals contend with Matt Ryan and the Falcons’ passing attack, although Patrick Peterson’s matchup with Julio Jones will go a long way toward determining how things play out on that front.
Floyd did not practice on either Thursday or Friday after getting hurt in practice earlier in the week. Everyone else on the active roster was at least a limited participant on Friday.
