WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THE GORE-TEX COACHING COATS?

Several readers have pointed out to us that several NFL coaches have been sporting this season cold-weather gear that includes big, puffy jackets that conjure memories of George Costanza and his Gore-tex coat.

On Sunday alone, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was wearing his version of the Costanza for at least the third time this year. Also outfitted in a similar jacket were Cowboys coach Wade Phillips and members of staff, as well as Ravens coach John Harbaugh and various of his assistants. Sorry, but these guys are supposed to be oblivious to the elements. Instead, they’re looking more and like Randy Parker on his way to school. Guys, if you don’t suck it up, you soon might not be able to put your arms down.
