Guard Willie Colon was limited to six games for the Jets last season because of a knee injury and turned 33 earlier this month, but said in March that he’d like to extend his NFL career to an 11th season.

He’s just not sure if he’s healthy enough to make that happen. Colon, who has started 100 games over the course of his career, attended tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson’s retirement press conference last week and said that he’s still waiting to see if his knee will allow him to suit up for another year.

“I’m getting in shape, trying to figure it out,” Colon said, via ESPN.com. “If my knee doesn’t respond, I’m just going to hang it up. Right now, it’s about me just getting in the best shape I can and see how it goes.”

Colon’s desire to play and ability to play are only two pieces of the puzzle. He’ll also need to find a team that wants to bring him on board. The Jets haven’t added another guard this offseason, but are expected to try to address the line at some point in the draft.
