Steelers signed TE Scotty Washington to their practice squad.
Washington is a 6'5" 225 pound former wide receiver turned tight end. He caught 35 passes for 607 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games during his senior season at Wake Forest but went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has spent time on the Patriots and Bengals practice squads and has yet to record an NFL catch. His presence on the practice squad is likely just further insurance with Pat Freiermuth on Injured Reserve.

Bengals signed Wake Forest WR Scotty Washington.
Washington is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound wideout who caught 35 passes for 607 yards and seven touchdowns before being slowed by injuries at the end of the year. His size is intriguing, but a lack of speed likely means that Washington is just a practice squad candidate, barring something unforeseeable.

  • BAL Tight End #85
Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scotty Washington has accepted an invitation to play in next month’s NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
Washington (6'5/225) was slowed by injuries during the latter stages of the regular season, with his last appearance coming in a win over NC State on November 2. The redshirt senior heads into the postseason with 35 receptions for 607 yards and seven touchdowns on the season. Washington has the size and pass-catching ability to be a serious threat in the red zone, and he’ll look to show off those skills in Pasadena next month. Pro Football Network draft analyst Tony Pauline gave him an undrafted free agent grade back in August.
  • BAL Tight End #85
Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scotty Washington (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Syracuse.
Washington (6'5/225) last saw the field on Nov. 2. He’ll have a chance to take part in Wake Forest’s bowl game later this winter if he can get right in the coming weeks, but the regular-season has now flown the coop on the redshirt senior, who currently owns a 35-607-7 receiving line in eight contests.
  • BAL Tight End #85
Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scott Washington (undisclosed) is not listed on the depth chart ahead of Saturday’s game at Syracuse.
Washington (6'5/225) has not appeared in a game since November 2, when he was injured during the Demon Deacons’ win over NC State. Wake has been without two of its top receivers in recent weeks, as Sage Surratt suffered a season-ending injury earlier this month. Should Washington miss another game even more will be expected of Kendall Hinton, who is also a key contributor in the return game. Washington has caught 35 passes for 607 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
  • BAL Tight End #85
Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scotty Washington (undisclosed) is not listed on the depth chart in advance of Saturday’s game against Duke.
Washington (6'5/225) has missed each of Wake Forest’s last two games while mending up from injury concern. There is always the chance that he enough makes late progress before kickoff that he ends up playing, but it’s looking doubtful at this midweek juncture. Kendall Hinton has been a mainstay in the receiving corp with Washington and Sage Surratt -- lost for the season due to injury -- ailing.

Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scotty Washington has been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. Clemson due to an undisclosed injury.
Washington (6'5/225) was not listed on the depth chart at the beginning of the week, so the chances of him playing were already slim. And HC Dave Clawson would make it official on Tuesday, but he added that the redshirt senior should be back at some point this season. Wake Forest will be down two key wide receivers this weekend, as Sage Surratt has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scotty Washington (undisclosed) is not listed on the depth chart ahead of Saturday’s game at Clemson.
Washington (6'5/225) did not play in last weekend’s loss at Virginia Tech due to injury, and he’s one of two wide receivers who are not on the depth chart to begin this week (Sage Surratt being the other). The redshirt senior has caught 35 passes for 607 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Kendall Hinton and Surratt were responsible for most of the production in the passing game against Virginia Tech, with Waydale Jones (whose snaps increased with Washington sidelined) catching one pass for seven yards.

Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scotty Washington is not taking part in warmups ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Virginia Tech due to an undisclosed injury.
Washington (6'5/225) caught three passes for 84 yards in last weekend’s win over NC State, but it appears likely that he won’t be able to play against the Hokies. As a result Steve Claude would be line to replace the redshirt senior int he starting lineup, and a reserve such as Waydale Jones or A.T. Perry could also figure more prominently in the Wake Forest passing game.
  • BAL Tight End #85
Wake Forest redshirt senior WR Scotty Washington snagged five passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 27-24 win over Boston College.
Washington is as steady as they come. Though he was kept quiet against North Carolina, Washington (6'5/205) has scored at least once in Wake Forest’s other four contests. Washington is now up to a team-best six receiving touchdowns on the year. Don’t be surprised when Washington finds his way into Louisville’s end zone next week.
