CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson reports the Patriots will interview Cardinals WR coach Shawn Jefferson for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Jefferson’s interview with the Patriots is reportedly scheduled for Friday. A long-time veteran of the NFL as both a player and coach, Jefferson entered the league in 1991 when the Chargers drafted him in the ninth round out of UCF. He latched on the with Lions in 2006 as an offensive assistant and spent time with the Titans, Dolphins, and Jets before landing in Arizona as the wide receivers coach in 2021. He was promoted to associate head coach ahead of the 2022 season but was brought in by former head coach Kliff Kingsbury. The Patriots have already interviewed multiple candidates to fill their vacancy at offensive coordinator as they look for a quick rebound from a disastrous 2022 campaign.
