Bucs interviewed Giants quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney for the team’s offensive coordinator vacancy.
Tierny emerges as a dark horse candidate for the Tampa job after the Bucs fired Byron Leftwich. He worked closely with Brian Daboll at Alabama, in Buffalo, and in New York in recent years. Tierny’s role in developing Daniel Jones in 2022 reportedly caught the attention of several teams, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo. Under Tierny, Jones had a mere five interceptions this season, for an interception rate of 1.1 percent. Tampa’s OC job would become far less desirable if Tom Brady leaves for greener pastures.
