Packers linebacker Spencer Havner has been switched to tight end.
Havner will play tight end for the rest of the minicamps, and then switch between the two positions at training camp. Assuming Havner makes the Packers, though, he’s only going to be a factor in kickoff coverage.

Spencer Havner caught two passes for 21 yards and two touchdowns in Week 8 against the Vikings.
The converted linebacker came into the game with four career catches, but twice got open in the red zone during the third quarter. Jeff Dugan of the Vikings also hauled in a score, so the game may have been the best of all time for third-string tight ends. Somewhere, Todd Yoder is smiling.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed Tuesday that Packers TE Spencer Havner was arrested for DUI over the weekend.
Now, it’s up to the district attorney’s office to pursue the charges. The highway patrol has not announced Havner’s blood-alcohol content at the time of his motorcycle accident. The legal limit in California is 0.08.

Updating a previous item, the California Highway Patrol will seek misdemeanor DUI charges against Packers TE Spencer Havner.
Havner’s blood alcohol level was found to be over the legal limit of 0.08 when police tested him at the hospital Saturday morning. Though he arrested at the hospital, Havner was never taken to jail because of injuries sustained in his motorcycle accident.

Packers TE Spencer Havner reportedly suffered a fractured scapula and lacerations to his head and arm in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning.
Disputing a previous item, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that no DUI charges have been filed. The Grass Valley Union earlier claimed that California Highway Patrol determined Haver was intoxicated. Havner allegedly lost control of his 2007 Kawasaki at the end of a cul-de-sac at 2:45AM. He was not wearing a helmet. The shoulder injury Havner suffered appears to be severe enough to cost him most of pre-training camp activities.

The agent for Packers TE Spencer Havner strongly disputed Monday a report that his client has been charged with DUI.
“He has not been charged criminally with driving under the influence of alcohol or any other substance,” said agent Mark Humenik. Humenik also called Havner’s injuries “minor,” but confirmed that his client does have a fractured scapula. It’s the same injury that cost Nate Clements the final nine weeks of last season. Havner isn’t likely to be 100 percent before June.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy guesses that TE Spencer Havner will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks following his motorcycle crash earlier this month.
Havner has a fractured scapula among other injuries, but this timeline would give the No. 3 tight end plenty of time to get ready for training camp. He had just seven catches lat season, but four of them went for touchdowns.

Packers re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Spencer Havner.
Havner, who fractured his scapula in a motorcycle crash last month, has begun participation in the Packers’ offseason conditioning program. His OK to return to workouts is a sign that he’ll be fine by training camp.

The Packers have tendered exclusive rights free agent TE Spencer Havner.
Havner, a converted UCLA linebacker, scored four fluky touchdowns on seven catches last season. He will hang around at Green Bay’s No. 3 tight end.

The Nevada County (Calif.) district attorney’s office found insufficient evidence to charge Packers TE Spencer Havner with drunken driving after crashing his motorcycle last month.
The D.A.'s office is sending the case back to California Highway Patrol for further investigation. Havner isn’t off the hook quite yet, though the case against him is obviously weak.
