Cowboys signed TE Tony Curtis to a one-year, $445,000 contract.
The move was made to free up cap space by incorporating unlikely to be earned incentives through a controversial loophole the NFL figures to address soon. Curtis is the Cowboys’ third-string tight end.
  • WAS Tight End
Chiefs signed TE Tony Curtis, formerly of the Cowboys.
Curtis isn’t going to replace Tony Gonzalez, but he is an adequate receiver and blocker. He will push Brad Cottam and Sean Ryan for playing time.
  • WAS Tight End
Eagles TE Tony Curtis (ankle) practiced for the first time with his new team Saturday.
Curtis was signed even though he had a high ankle sprain. He’s expected to be the backup to Brent Celek, with Matt Schobel and Rob Myers also in the mix.
  • WAS Tight End
The Ravens tried out free agent TE Tony Curtis this week.
Former Steelers FB Carey Davis was also at the tryout. Baltimore may be concerned about the long-term future of L.J. Smith, who is out indefinitely with a hamstring pull. Davis could provide depth behind Le’Ron McClain.
  • WAS Tight End
    Ravens released TE Tony Curtis.
Curtis lasted three weeks on the roster as Baltimore’s No. 4 tight end. The Ravens are good to go with Edgar Jones and L.J. Smith behind Todd Heap.
  • WAS Tight End
    Ravens signed TE Tony Curtis.
The former Cowboys third-stringer is healthy after a preseason ankle injury. He’ll be insurance should L.J. Smith’s hamstring injury continue to linger.
  • WAS Tight End
    Chiefs released TE Tony Curtis.
Tight end is one of the weakest positions on Kansas City’s roster and coach Todd Haley had Curtis in Dallas, so this is a big indictment of Curtis’ ability.
  • WAS Tight End
New Eagles TE Tony Curtis (high ankle sprain) won’t be able to fully practice for about a week.
Since he won’t be able to practice before the first day of cuts, this is a sign that the Eagles plan on keeping Curtis to back up Brent Celek. The third tight end will likely come down to Matt Schobel or Rob Myers.
  • WAS Tight End
The Bills worked out free agent tight ends Tony Curtis, Joe Klopfenstein and Leonard Pope.
Bills tight end Derek Fine is listed as probable with a hamstring injury, but was inactive last week. The Bills also have rookie tight end Shawn Nelson, who looks like he could turn into a good pass-catcher, and starter Derek Schouman.

According to Jason La Canfora, the Eagles evaluated free agent TE Tony Curtis Friday and could sign him, pending a physical.
The Eagles have been ravaged by injuries at the tight end position with Cornelius Ingram (knee) out for the season and Matt Schobel struggling with a calf problem. Curtis was cut by the Chiefs earlier this month. He would give the Eagles some depth behind Brent Celek and Schobel.
