The CBA negotiations will resume tomorrow, but NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, deputy commissioner Bill Daly, NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr, and the union’s Steve Fehr will meet prior to the start of the main negotiations, according to RDS’ Renaud P Lavoie.

The downside is that the core economic issues are still not on the table.

The NHL season was supposed to start on Thursday, but that obviously won’t happen as the first two weeks of the regular season have already been scrapped.

On top of that, Donald Fehr warned that the players might put the salary cap itself on the table if the lockout drags on. Such a move would likely be seen as a non-starter for from the league’s perspective and likely lengthen the lockout.

The two sides are also expected to meet in New York on Thursday for further CBA negotiations.
