The Winnipeg Jets are trying to improve their bottom six forwards and did a bit to help that out.
The team announced they’ve signed forward T.J. Galiardi to a one-year two-way deal worth $750,000. Last season with the Calgary Flames, he had four goals and 17 points in 62 games.
Through his career, Galiardi has been a steady third line-type of player capable of playing well defensively and chipping in with the occasional goal or two.
Since breaking out with the Colorado Avalanche in 2009-10 when he had career-highs in goals (15) and points (39), he’s had trouble staying healthy and in the lineup. Now he’ll join his fourth team in four seasons. He’ll be hoping prognosticators go a bit easier on the Jets than they did the Flames last season.
