Journeyman netminder Yann Danis has inked a professional tryout with Anaheim’s AHL affiliate in Norfolk, the club announced on Monday.

Danis, 33, has appeared in 53 career NHL contests with the Canadiens, Islanders, Devils and Oilers. He last appeared with Edmonton during the lockout-shortened ’13 campaign, and his best season came with New York during the 2008-09 season when he played a career-high 31 games, finishing with a .910 save percentage and 2.86 GAA.

The Ducks are light on goaltending depth at the moment thanks to injuries to John Gibson (out six weeks with a groin ailment) and Frederik Andersen, who recently returned from a leg issue and played in Sunday’s 2-1 shootout loss to Vancouver.

The injuries have forced AHL farmhand Jason LaBarbera to back up Andersen with the Ducks, leaving 23-year-old Russian Igor Bobkov to handle the load for the Admirals.

Danis spent last year in the Flyers organization, playing exclusively in AHL Adirondack.
