It’s all available hands on deck for the Dodgers as they stride towards the postseason. The 26-year-old Buss excelled in his first season at Triple-A, hitting .303/.363/.525 with 17 homers, 100 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 131 games.

Crawford is currently dealing with some back soreness and will get another day to rest. Nick Buss is playing left field Monday against the Diamondbacks.

The Angels have gotten nothing at all out of left field this year, so the 29-year-old Buss is getting his chance now. He’s not going to turn into a 2017 option for the club, but he should have some AL-only value while receiving significant playing time now.

It’s a rare day off for the superstar. Andrelton Simmons is also getting a breather, as the Halos are going with Nick Buss in center field and Cliff Pennington at shortstop.

The 29-year-old is making his Angels debut on Saturday, starting in center field and batting eighth against the Indians. Buss was hitting .290/.345/.462 with six homers, 46 RBI and eight stolen bases in 87 games at Triple-A.

Unfortunately for Buss and the Angels, the outfielder’s two-run shot in the second inning represented their only runs of the night. Buss has been getting regular playing time in left field, although he had been in a funk before Tuesday. The 29-year-old could carve out some AL-only value.

Buss had been designated for assignment after hitting just .198/.247/.346 over 90 plate appearances for the Halos. He’ll stick around in the organization.
