The suit Cathy Freeman wore when she lit the Sydney Olympic cauldron may have been found after going missing the night of that Opening Ceremony in 2000.
Melbourne police took possession of an item of clothing which could be the body suit, emanating from an anonymous source, according to the Australian Olympic Committee.
In 2000, Freeman memorably stood for more than four minutes under the cauldron, after she lit it, due to a glitch that delayed it from rising to the top of Stadium Australia.
Freeman stood under a waterfall and was soaked. The suit disappeared from her dressing room after she took it off later that night.
