Hannah Kearney tops first moguls qualification run

Hannah Kearney experienced a mixture of highs and lows while taking first place in the first qualification run for women’s moguls on Thursday. NBC’s Skyler Wilder captured her memorable day:

“I feel fantastic. I’ll admit I felt terrible this morning... But I trusted myself and I trust my training.” Hannah Kearney #moguls pro!

Kearney met expectations by taking first, but that wasn’t the only moment that stuck to the script, as the three Dufour-Lapointe sisters look primed to give her stiff competition. Chloe and Justine finished second and third respectively while Maxime clinched a spot in the final round by landing in eighth place.

The first qualifying run’s top 10 mogul competitors locked up spots in the finals while the remaining 20 will need to go through a second qualifying run for a chance at the finals.

Here’s the full list of 10 who won’t need to participate in the second qualifying round: Kearney, the Dufour-Lapointe trio, Eliza Outtrim, Perrine Laffont, Yulia Galysheva, Aiko Uemura, Audrey Robichaud and Regina Rakhimova.

The second qualifying round takes place on Saturday before the finals kick in.
