Ole Einar Bjoerndalen isn’t calling it a career quite yet.
The Norwegian who broke the record for most career Winter Olympic medals in Sochi aims to continue his biathlon career through the 2016 World Championships in Oslo.
Bjoerndalen, 40, won two gold medals in Sochi, bringing his total to 13 medals and eight golds. He broke the total medals record held by retired Norwegian cross-country skier Bjorn Daehlie and tied Daehlie’s mark for career gold medals.
The announcement to continue through 2016 was made on Bjoerndalen’s Facebook page and repeated in Norwegian media.
“It feels right to continue, I cannot stop now,” Bjoerndalen told VG, according to Reuters. “I have more to give and I really want this.”
