Liu Rui and the upstart Chinese men’s curling team enjoyed a great run, but it didn’t end with a medal as Niklas Edin and the rest of the Swedish team took bronze on Friday.

It was far from easy, however, as the match went into extra ends. Sweden ultimately pulled through with a 6-4 win, however, as this official Sochi box score illustrates.

Sweden’s women’s team took silver on Thursday, so it’s a solid showing for the country in curling.

With that, Edin (aka “The John McEnroe of curling”) tops the rising star Rui on Friday. The men’s gold medal game between Canada and Great Britain kicks in at 8:30 a.m. ET.
