Many U.S. Olympic track and field hopefuls will compete for national titles and World Indoor Championships berths at the U.S. Indoor Championships in Portland, Ore., on Friday and Saturday, on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra.

The entries include:

Olympic decathlon champion Ashton Eaton in the 60m and the long jump
Olympic champion Jenn Suhr in the pole vault
Olympic champion Brittney Reese in the long jump
Olympic 10,000m silver medalist Galen Rupp in the 3000m
World 100m bronze medalist Trayvon Bromell in the 60m

Athletes are bidding for places in the World Indoor Championships, also in Portland, the following week.

It’s the second time the U.S. will host a World Track and Field Championships, the other being the first World Indoors in Indianapolis in 1987. The U.S. has never hosted a World Outdoor Championships.
