    Rams waived RB Raymond Calais.
The Rams also waived UDFA safety Paris Ford. Calais suffered a fracture in his foot during the team’s second preseason game. He’s expected to be out 4-6 months so the team reached an injury settlement with him. Calais was primarily used on special teams when active but could have served as a depth option at running back with how thin the Rams’ are at that position. Xavier Jones, Jake Funk, and Otis Anderson are the remaining backups to Darrell Henderson.

  • FA Safety #43
Rams signed Pittsburgh S Paris Ford.
Ford (6'1/197) is a throwback kind of safety. A first-team All-ACC selection in 2019 and second-team All-ACC selection in 2020, Ford plays with unmatched aggression when flowing downhill. He comes in hot and is always looking to take players’ heads off, for better or worse. In coverage, Ford’s approach is similar, giving him a bit of a feast-or-famine play style. Ford snagged six interceptions in his two years as a starter, but sometimes his questionable angles combined with his lackluster speed (4.85 40-yard dash) got him burned. Ideally, Ford gets to play more towards the box and be aggressive rather than play up top or in the slot. Ford shows some similarities to former South Carolina S DJ Swearinger.
