STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 23, 2026 – 2025 NFL MVP Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams (1-1) visit 2024 first-round pick Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos (1-1) in the Week 3 edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football, showcasing two teams that advanced to their respective conference championship games last season. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America, followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET from Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo., on NBC, Peacock, and Universo.
The Rams beat the New York Giants, 28-6, at home on Monday Night Football. Stafford threw for a game-high 327 yards and four touchdowns, while three-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams posted 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions. Running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum combined for 189 scrimmage yards in the win, with Williams also catching one of Stafford’s four touchdown passes. Los Angeles’ defense, led by three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald in his first NFL game since the 2023 season, limited New York to 182 total yards and 11 first downs.
The Broncos defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 20-13, in their home opener last weekend. After trailing 13-3 midway through the third quarter, Denver scored 17 unanswered points on three consecutive scoring drives led by Nix, who finished with 288 passing yards and a touchdown. Newly acquired wide receiver Jaylen Waddle recorded a game-best 138 receiving yards on eight receptions. Last season, the Broncos reached the AFC Championship Game for the first time since their Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2015.
Los Angeles and Denver meet for the 16th time on Sunday, with the Rams holding a 10-5 advantage in the all-time series, dating back to 1972. Led by Super Bowl-winning head coaches Sean McVay and Sean Payton, the Rams and Broncos both reached the 2025 NFC and AFC Championship Games, respectively. Los Angeles has won five straight matchups against the Broncos, whose last victory over the Rams came in the 2002 season. The teams last met in Week 16 of the 2022 season, when Los Angeles earned a 51-14 victory at SoFi Stadium. This will be the first-ever matchup between Stafford and Nix.
Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst), and Melissa Stark (sideline reporter) will call Rams-Broncos. Three-time Super Bowl referee Terry McAulay is the rules analyst for all NFL games on NBC and Peacock.
Coverage begins with Football Night in America live on-site from Empower Field at Mile High at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The pregame show will feature host Maria Taylor, joined by Super Bowl‑winning former head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, three-time Super Bowl champion Devin McCourty, and NFL insider Mike Florio. NBC SPORTS TO PRESENT 26 NFL GAMES IN 2026
On NBC and Peacock, NBC Sports will present 22 regular-season games – 18 regular-season Sunday Night Football games, NFL Kickoff 2026, and the annual Thanksgiving night game and a late afternoon Week 17 game at 4:30 p.m. ET on Jan. 2, 2027, plus a primetime Week 17 Peacock exclusive game on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2027. NBC Sports will present three postseason games on NBC and Peacock – two Wild Card games, including one in primetime on Sunday night, Jan. 17, and one Divisional Playoff game on the weekend of January 23-24. NBC Sports also presented the preseason-opening Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Thursday, Aug. 6.
PEACOCK TO STREAM ALL NBC NFL GAMES THIS SEASON
Peacock will once again stream all NBC NFL games, including the playoffs, and the Football Night in America studio show. The exclusive Peacock Sunday Night Football Final returns with expanded postgame coverage following SNF each week. Peacock will be the exclusive national home of an NFL Week 17 game in primetime on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2027, immediately following an NFL game at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. NBC stations in competing team cities will also broadcast the Peacock exclusive game.

As in prior seasons, for Week 18, the final weekend of the season, the scheduling of the Saturday, Sunday afternoon, and the Sunday night games is not assigned.
