Hickey

An undrafted free agent out of Syracuse last year, Hickey signed a reserve/future contract with the Jets in January. With sub-par athleticism and short arms, Hickey is limited in pass protection, but he can get the job done as a run blocker. It is possible he finds another home before training camp.

Hickey (6'5/309) made 38 career starts for the Orange, succeeding Justin Pugh as Syracuse’s left tackle. He was a third-team All-ACC selection by the conference’s coaches as a senior. Hickey ran 5.10/5.20 at the Orange Pro Day, adding a 27-inch vertical and pumping 38 reps on the bench. Hickey has short arms (32 3/4"), but big hands (10 1/2") and excels as a run blocker. He’ll have to kick inside to guard for NFL teams to mask his pass-protection flaws.
