Free agent OT Seantrel Henderson visited the Bills.
Henderson has been out of the league since getting released from Houston in Week 5. He spent the first four years of his career as a starter in Buffalo. With backup Ty Nsekhe (ankle) sidelined, Henderson could give the Bills some depth.
  • NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Texans RT Seantrel Henderson has been released off the NFI list.
Henderson was placed on the NFI list due to a slight back injury, but he’s reportedly healthy now. The 27-year-old OT could be a helpful depth piece considering Henderson has started 29 games since entering the league in 2014.
  • Texans declared QB Alex McGough, CB Xavier Crawford, LB Tyrell Adams, T Seantrel Henderson, TE Logan Paulsen, TE Jerell Adams and DE Charles Omenihu inactive for Week 4 against the Panthers.
The Texans are fairly healthy aside from some of their depth in the trenches, as each of Henderson (wrist) and Omenihu (knee) have been ruled out. They’re 5.5-point favorites at home against the Panthers.
  • Texans re-signed RT Seantrel Henderson to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.
Henderson missed nearly all of the 2018 season with a broken ankle he suffered against the Patriots in Week 1. He’ll be welcomed back with open arms in 2019 given Houston’s leaky pass-pro the team flashed throughout the year. Either Julie’n Davenport or third-rounder Martinas Rankin will return to the bench.
  • Texans coach Bill O’Brien confirmed RT Seantrel Henderson is out for the season with a broken ankle.
Henderson will undergo surgery on Tuesday and should be placed on injured reserve this week. Henderson is not great, but his loss is a blow to an offensive line which was already among the worst in the league. Julie’n Davenport switched to right tackle with third-round rookie Martinas Rankin taking over at left tackle after Henderson exited on Sunday.
  • The Buffalo News reports Bills RT Seantrel Henderson (Crohn’s disease) plans to fly to Buffalo this week and be “ready for the ’16 season.”
Beat writer Ty Dunne reported earlier Monday that Henderson was “MIA,” and he indeed has not been in contact with coach Rex Ryan. Henderson’s agent presumably contacted Dunne and told him Henderson still plans to play this year. Per Dunne, Henderson underwent two surgeries to address his fight with Crohn’s disease, one of which “reattached” Henderson’s intestines. It’s unclear whether Henderson will be healthy for training camp.
  • Bills RT Seantrel Henderson (Crohn’s) was activated from the active/NFI list Monday.
Henderson was expected to open the season on the NFI list after losing significant weight while battling Crohn’s disease over the offseason. He has apparently put enough weight back on to practice, however, and could possibly push for a return to the starting lineup. Jordan Mills has worked as the first-team right tackle with Henderson sidelined.
  • Bills RT Seantrel Henderson’s (illness) status is still uncertain.
The Bills have been mum on Henderson’s status since he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease late last season. Jordan Mills filled in at right tackle for the final five games of 2015 and would be the favorite to start there again if Henderson remains sidelined.
  • Bills RT Seantrel Henderson, who is battling Crohn’s disease, has been a no-show for OTAs and is considered “MIA.”
The Buffalo News refers to Henderson as “off the grid.” Rex Ryan hasn’t spoken to Henderson since the end of last season, and “teammates haven’t heard from him” and “aren’t sure when or if he’ll be back.” The Bills have moved forward with Jordan Mills and Cyrus Kouandjio competing at right tackle. Henderson reportedly underwent surgery “a few months ago” to address his battle with Crohn’s disease, which caused him to lose 20 pounds. Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel condition that can cause severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, and weight loss. David Garrard dealt with it late in his Jaguars career.
  • BuffaloBills.com reports RT Seantrel Henderson (Crohn’s disease) has the “green light” to play if he can add back some weight.
Henderson was “only” 306 pounds when he reported to minicamp. He needs to put on at least 20 pounds before he is ready to play, a feat unlikely to be accomplished before training camp begins. It is unlikely Henderson is ready for camp, and he could begin the season on the non-football injury list.
