Chelsea's Diego Costa put on the shot, but an unfortunate deflection off Adam Smith puts Bournemouth behind.

Diego Costa prodded Bournemouth into an own goal and Eden Hazard added a second for Chelsea, which is on pace to restore its 7-point table lead through 45 minutes at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth.

Joshua King scored before halftime to give the match its 2-1 score line.

Chelsea started well, and got its goal when Diego Costa’s turn and wild rip took a turn off Adam Smith to beat Artur Boruc. 1-0, 16'

It was 2-0 within minutes, as Eden Hazard danced onto an N’Golo Kante ball and nearly dizzied himself cutting behind Boruc to finish from an acute angle.

Benik Afobe flew into the 18 to strike a Charlie Daniels cross just off, booming off the inside of the post.

Bournemouth did pull one back through in-form King, who took a feed from Afobe and hit his shot off David Luiz and beyond a splayed Thibaut Courtois.
