The 41-year old manager took over at the club in December 2015, and has since led the side to a record of 10-7-11.
Neville released this statement following the announcement:
The Manchester United standout, who made 400 appearances for the club in his playing career, struggled from start with Valencia. Despite an early 1-1 draw with Barcelona just a few days into his tenure, the club was later embarrassed by the league leaders in the Copa del Rey by an aggregate score of 8-1.
Valencia currently sits 14th in La Liga, six points above the relegation zone.
With only the league left to play for this season for Valencia, after bailing out of the UEFA Europa League in the Round of 16, Neville always seemed likely to lose his job.
Valencia has appointed Pako Ayestaran for the remainder of the season, according to a club press release. Ayestaran was formerly an assistant coach with the team from 2001 to 2004.
