Could Tottenham share their stadium with an NFL team? Here’s how it will work

SPURSSTADIUM1

In case you missed the news yesterday, reports from London suggested that Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur could strike a deal with the National Football League (NFL) to house a London-based franchise at their new stadium, if and when such a team comes to fruition.

Tottenham is currently gearing up for a total overhaul of its White Hart Lane stadium as the revamped home of Spurs will see its capacity increased from 36,000 to over 56,000 in time for the start of the 2018-19 season. That’s a lot less than the 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium boasts for the current NFL International Series, but it may be more manageable down the road if any initial interest dies down around an NFL London franchise.

So, exactly how will the new $700 million stadium, which will be built on land adjacent to the current home of Tottenham, be packaged as an NFL venue?

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk answers all that and more in the video above.
