Dieumerci Mbokani scored twice and Nathan Redmond joined him on the score sheet as Norwich City thumped Watford 4-2 at Carrow Road on Wednesday.
The win did not save Norwich from the drop, as Sunderland’s win relegated the Canaries.
Craig Cathcart put an own goal in for Norwich’s third tally, while Troy Deeney and Odion Igahlo netted for the 13th place Hornets.

The visitors took an 11th minute lead when John Ruddy blocked Odion Ighalo’s run, leaving the ball at his feet for Deeney to follow up and bury.
The Canaries weren’t ruined by the early concessions, and Redmond beat Heurelho Gomes near post in a softish goal. The 22-year-old Redmond that hit a ball off the post that Mbokani tapped in to make it 2-1, all inside of the first 20 minutes of play.
Cathcart then turned the ball into his own goal when an unfortunate slip gave the Canaries a clear cross through the 18. The score line was nice, but celebration little thanks to Sunderland’s 2-0 lead across the country.

Ighalo pulled Watford to within one when he slotted home from Deeney’s pass, a fairly simple finish that made it 3-2.
Heads held high despite their fate in the Championship, the Canaries restored their lead when Redmond found Mbokani for a dink of a finish.
