Pep Guardiola reaction — What did Man City boss say after latest goal fest, win vs Crystal Palace?
“Really, really tough place to come. … When you lose the ball, they attack the channels incredibly well inside with Sarr and Mateta — so difficult — but we were patient. … Really pleased with the performance, the victory and to grow in our mentality.”
On Nico Gonzalez’s development: “Nico is growing a lot and has margins to improve. … Every game he is growing and he helps us a lot with composure in that position.”
On Erling Haaland scoring two more goals: “Erling is here to score goals, but in the second half he kept the ball. We talk about that. He is able to contain that situation — 50-50, one touch, sometimes use the body, one or two or three touches and help us be together. The second half, Erling was outstanding.”
On Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki: “Phil didn’t play a good game today. Phil knows the demand to him is to not lose balls, and he lost a lot in the first half because he is in the sixth gear. He has to play more calm, has to change the rhythm at the right moment. We talk about this for many years, but we will do it. And Rayan, I know his quality in the final third — having special vision and he keeps the ball.”
