PHOTO: Justin Bieber is now a... Southend United fan

Bieber

Southend-on-Sea is home to the world’s longest pleasure pier and actress Helen Mirren hails from the seaside town in Essex, England.

It is also home to the club supported by Justin Bieber. No, seriously. He’s a Shrimper.

During a trip to London over the weekend Bieber was pictured with a Southend shirt, and the club have Tweeted that out from their official account.

Now, before fans of the Shrimpers get too excited, we have seen Bieber wearing Chelsea, Barcelona and Everton kits in the past but the fact that he’s giving some love to a League One side is pretty cool.

The love is being reciprocated as Bieber has been interacting with some of Southend’s players after they revealed they play his music all the time and forward Ryan Leonard “can’t stop scoring” since Bieber’s new single was released. Leonard even celebrate his latest goal against Sheffield United with a Bieber inspired dance move. This is all getting a bit serious.

So, are the “Beliebers” out there ready to jump on the promotion bandwagon with Phil Brown’s side just outside the playoff spots? Southend are enjoying quite a return to the third-tier following their promotion from League Two last season.

Maybe Bieber can return for a celebratory concert at Roots Hall at the end of the season...
