Week 15 of the 2014-15 season is here and the rankings of power have been away for a matchdays to let things shake out a little. Manchester United and Manchester City are on the charge, Liverpool is finding their feet and the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham are soldiering on. Then there’s Chelsea...

Plus, Southampton, West Ham and Swansea City still are in the top seven... what is going on?!

[Archive: Premier League Power Rankings]

Each week we put our neck on the line to analyze the strength of each Premier League team, forget about the official league standings (here they are in case you actually do want them) that doesn’t mean squat.

The Power Rankings take into account the strength of schedule, injuries, suspensions, playing well but still losing and plenty of other variables. The W-D-L bracket shows each PL team’s current record and you can now see how many spots each team has moved, up or down, from week-to-week.

Let’s get to it!

RANKING
Up/Down
chelsea

1-Chelsea: The Blues brushed aside Spurs 3-0 in a London derby, without the suspended Diego Costa. Tough test away at Newcastle, but Mourinho’s squad looks so strong. Can anybody stop them? (11-3-0)

2UP 3Manchester City: City look like the only team who can stop Chelsea. Pellegrini’s men have won four of their last five and hammered Saints and Sunderland last week. Everton at home this week. (9-3-2)

3 UP 5Manchester United: Here they come. The Red Devils are on the charge. United have won four on the spin, despite plenty of injury problems. Huge game away at Saints this Monday for Rooney and Co. (7-4-3)
West Ham United logo
4-West Ham: The Hammers are on another roll with narrow wins over Newcastle and West Brom. Big clash with the Swans this Sunday. (7-3-4)

5 DOWN 2Arsenal: The Gunners followed up two-straight defeats with two wins. But they were unconvincing against West Brom and Saints. Must do better, but Alexis Sanchez is bailing them out. (6-5-3)
southampton
6 DOWN 4Southampton: Has Saints’ bubble burst? Maybe. They were taught a lesson by Man City and then lost a late goal to Arsenal after a spate of injuries hit. Can they bounce back and beat Man United? (8-2-4)

7-Swansea City: The Swans continue to impress and have only lost one of their last six. Away trip to West Ham awaits. (6-4-4)

8DOWN 2Newcastle United: Newcastle’s fine run of wins was finally ended and they drew away at Burnley in midweek. Not all doom and gloom, but Chelsea at home is a toughie. (5-5-4)

9UP 3Liverpool: Brendan Rodgers will be a happy man. The Reds have won two on the spin and now face Sunderland at home with plenty of confidence. Big Rickie Lambert is playing ever so well. (6-2-6)

10-Everton: Side-stepping from Roberto Martinez’s men. Despite their good form in the Europa League, that hasn’t translated to the PL. Defeat to Spurs and a draw with Hull isn’t good prep for facing City. (3-4-3)
Burnley
11UP 9Burnley: Four games unbeaten for the Clarets, who won two on the spin and have drawn with Villa and Newcastle. Huge relegation six-pointer vs. QPR (2-6-6)
-1
12DOWN 3Tottenham Hotspur: Just when you thought Spurs were gaining some momentum, they were battered at Chelsea. That was a reality check, they should get back on track vs. Palace. (6-2-6)

13-Stoke City: The Potters put in brave displays away at Liverpool and Man United last week, but came away with nothing. No luck at the moment (Geoff Cameron has more on that) and Arsenal at home this weekend. Upset alert! (4-3-7)
sunderland
14-Sunderland: The draw specialists are very hard to beat as they tied with Chelsea, but were humbled by Man City. Liverpool away is another tough one. (2-8-4)
QPR logo
15DOWN 4QPR: A crucial home win over Leicester was followed up by a seventh straight away defeat at Swansea. Good thing they are at home vs. Burnley. HUGE game. (3-2-9)
Aston_Villa_Logo_851684732
16 UP 3Aston Villa: They are four unbeaten and sealed a big win away at Palace in midweek. Roy Keane may have left, but plenty of his grit had remained. Midlands derby vs. Leicester this week. (4-4-6)

17 DOWN 2Crystal Palace: The Eagles drew with Swansea and lost to Villa after that impressive win over Liverpool. No consistency for Palace and they must now play Spurs at the Lane. Dropping. (3-4-7)

18DOWN 3West Brom: Another side sinking fast is the Baggies who have lost four-straight and are struggling big time. They just don’t look deadly in front of goal. Massive game vs. Hull this week. (3-4-7)
Hull City logo
19DOWN 3Hull City: That’s right, look at where the Tigers are. Out of the drop zone on goal difference, Hull is without a win in seven and have lost four of their last five. Worrying times at the KC. (2-6-6)
20 DOWN 2Leicester City: The Foxes are without a win in nine and have lost six of their last seven. Giving up three goals vs. QPR and Liverpool, plus the manager arguing with fans, didn’t help matters. They must win the battle vs. Villa this weekend. Crucial match. (2-4-8)
