Here’s some good news for Manchester United supporters, as intrepid reporter Guillem Balague says Real Madrid have given up hope of bringing goalkeeper David De Gea to the Bernabeu.

De Gea came within a paperwork faux pas of landing at Real last summer in a swap deal for Keylor Navas, and the Spanish giants were considered likely go after him in January and this summer.

They have, but with a new manager at Old Trafford and continued accolades for United, De Gea has changed his mind.

From Sky Sports:

“I think De Gea now is a clear situation,” Balague told Sky Sports News HQ. “Real Madrid have decided not to go with him. He’s happy, he wants to stay with Manchester United and see what Jose Mourinho brings to him.”

Balague also provides updates on potential moves to and from the Premier League for Nolito, Cesar Azpilicueta, Hector Bellerin, and Alvaro Morata in this post.
