Leicester City continued their good start to life back in the Premier League by beating Stoke City 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.
Leonardo Ulloa scored the game-winner for the Foxes in the second half as the Argentina turned clinically from close range to make it 1-0. Leicester were under pressure for much of the game but Stoke failed to carved out clear cut chances as Peter Crouch came close but missed the target on several occasions.
The win gives Nigel Pearson’s men five points from their opening four games, while Stoke slump to their second defeat in four after the high of beating Man City last time out.

Stoke City started the brighter of the two teams as Peter Crouch headed wide from a corner and the Potters started to pile on the pressure. Jonathan Walters then had a drive across goal which Hamer fumbled but Leicester managed to hack clear. It was all Stoke City in the early exchanges.
Crouch then saw an incredible acrobatic effort fly just over the crossbar as the Potters were all over the Foxes at a lively Britannia Stadium. Crouch, again, came close as his low drive skidded past Hamer’s post as the away side struggled to cope with Stoke’s direct approach in the first half.

At half time Leicester brought on Argentine legend Esteban Cambiasso for his debut as the Foxes tried to gain possession and see more of the ball. Stoke’s first effort of the second half came via Bojan who cut inside and curled an effort towards the top corner which Hamer saved comfortably.
The Potters continued to press forward and flung plenty of high balls into the box which Leicester dealt with superbly. Then, the Foxes took the lead as Paul Konchesky was set free down the left and his powerful cross was instinctively turned home by Ulloa for his third goal in four PL matches.
Late on some heroic defending from both teams took place as defenders were throwing themselves in the way of shots all over the place but Leicester held on to grab their first PL victory in over a decade.
