The 24-year-old joins fellow Bordeaux teammate Henri Saivet in the Premier League, as Newcastle United purchased the latter on Jan. 11.

Khazri had six goals in 13 caps for Tunisia, and netted 14 times in 48 appearances for Bordeaux since joining from Bastia in 2014.

Here’s what Sunderland boss
Sam Allardyce said on Sunderland’s site:

“Wahbi is a quick, dynamic attacking player. He has many attributes, not least his delivery from wide areas and set pieces and of course his ability to score goals.

“His versatility will certainly complement our existing forward options and I am delighted to welcome him to the club.”

Sunderland has now purchased Bayern Munich back Jan Kirchhoff, Lorient defender Lamine Kone and Khazri, while regional relegation rivals Newcastle have added Saivet, Jonjo Shelvey and Andros Townsend.

Game on.

Bordeaux is 10th in the Ligue 1 table.
