Neymar admitted as much, saying his people had conversations with the Premier League club and that talks happened between Barcelona and United.
It makes you wonder whether January or next summer would be an option for the move. Barcelona has brought in some serious players, ones that won’t be able to join until its transfer ban expires in the New Year.
Once Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal are in the fold, will Barca be tempted to cash in on an asset which would no doubt be a record-exploding fee.
We’ve seen teams like Spurs and Liverpool struggle to turn big fees into several different quality players, but surely Barca could take hundred of millions of dollars and find some promising wingers, no? Or is Neymar’s star quality the caliber that makes him irreplaceable?
