Watford and Chelsea each moved closer to ensuring their Premier League safety in a 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road on Wednesday.
Watford now has 33 points, good for ninth in the PL, while Chelsea’s 29 points have the club eight points above 18th place Newcastle.

Chelsea carried the possession numbers in the first half, but Watford created the danger. The Hornets out attempted the Blues 10-4, and put the only three chances of the game on frame.
And it wasn’t a surprise when we went to the break scoreless.

Iosif Cholevas caused a roar around the ground when his shot from the left cruised around the outside of the goal, but the Hornets had not broken through with his 52nd minute shot.
Diego Costa was involved in hijinks early, trading yellow cards with Paredes in the first half, but he nearly turned provider to Oscar in the 55th minute only to watch the winger push it wide of the goal.
Frankly there wasn’t much to like about this one, as Eden Hazard’s introduction came a bit too late to net Chelsea a winner.
