Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger thinks this is a year his club can make a splash in the UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners begin their campaign Tuesday against Paris Saint-Germain, and Wenger is feeling buoyed by his work in the transfer market.

Wenger has been bounced from the competition at the Round of 16 on seven-straight occasions, though it should be noted he’s also made the knockout rounds in ever seasons since 2002-03.

From Arsenal.com:

“I think we have a better chance, yes,” he said.

“I was used to playing with my younger squads when you build a stadium because you don’t have the resources. Now I have a team with more experienced players.”

What do you think? Has Wenger buttressed his team with enough depth and stability to make a deeper run this year? Or will it be more of the same at the Emirates?
