With just one week of MLS regular-season left, and things balanced on a knife edge, there’s still plenty to be sorted out in the final few games of an extremely exciting 2013 campaign.
Supporters’ Shield champs, Conference champions and playoff seeds are still undecided, so there’s plenty riding on the final week of play.
Saturday and Sunday should provide one of the most entertaining finishes to an MLS season, ever, with the Eastern Conference awash with postseason permutations going down to the final few minutes of the 34-game campaign. Just check out the standings below to see how close things are, incredible.
Things are extremely tight in the East, with 3rd placed Montreal just three points ahead of seventh placed Philadelphia, as five teams are battling away for the final three playoff berths. if New York beat Chicago at Red Bull Arena, they’ll win the Shield, while New England have the edge over their counterparts in the East with a +10 goal differential. Montreal, Chicago, Houston and Philadelphia are all separated by just three points and three goals.

Out West, things are pretty much squared away following the weekends results, as San Jose need an 18 goals swing to jump ahead of fifth placed Colorado. Portland, LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake and Seattle have already clinched a place in the postseason, but all four are separated by just three points.
Who will win the West? It’s anybody’s guess. Here are the final slate of games and the standings, as an epic MLS finale awaits both the Eastern and Western conferences.
