Terrance Copper caught three passes for 61 yards in the Chiefs’ Week 16 overtime loss to the Raiders.
This is nothing more than a fluke. Copper is the Chiefs’ No. 4 receiver and saw just three targets on the day. And before today, he had four catches for 39 yards on the season.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Terrance Copper caught three passes for 33 yards in the Chiefs’ Week 11 loss to the Bengals.
Copper became an every-down wideout after Dwayne Bowe (neck) went down. He only got the chance because Jon Baldwin (head) was inactive. There’s no fantasy appeal here.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Chiefs placed WR Terrance Copper (knee) on season-ending injured reserve and signed WR Junior Hemingway from the practice squad.
Copper, 31 in March, caught eight passes for 79 yards on the season, but he holds more value to the Chiefs as a special teams player. He’s under contract for $840,000 in 2013. Hemingway was taken in the seventh round of this past year’s draft out of Michigan.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Terrance Copper is evolving into the Cowboys No. 3 receiver.
He caught three passes for 44 yards on Sunday, leading the team. The undrafted rookie from East Carolina is distancing himself from the other no-name receivers behind Keyshawn Johnson and Quincy Morgan.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Chiefs waived WR Terrance Cooper, DB Neiko Thorpe, FB Braden Wilson, WR Tyler Shoemaker, RB Jordan Roberts, CB Kamaal McIlwain, DE Rob Lohr, OL A.J. Hawkins, DB Otha Foster, OL Hutch Eckerson, OL Ryan Durand, DE Miguel Chavis, and CB Vince Agnew.
Copper is a career special teamer. Wilson is the first 2013 draft pick we’ve seen cut without an injury designation of some sort. To not even make it to final cuts, it must’ve been evident early in camp that he was not a player.
  • FA Wide Receiver #87
Saints coach Sean Payton said Monday that the team will use a rotation at the receiver position opposite Marques Colston moving forward.
Devery Henderson had a big drop in Sunday’s loss and may have lost his starting job to Lance Moore. David Patten, Terrance Copper, and eventually first-round pick Robert Meachem could also be a part of the committee.
  • FA Wide Receiver
David Patten has been working as the Saints’ No. 3 receiver at training camp.
It seems unlikely that Patten will stay there, but if he does Robert Meachem could be as low as fifth on the totem pole behind starters Marques Colston and Devery Henderson, Patten, and key reserve Terrance Copper. Patten isn’t someone to consider in fantasy leagues yet.
  • FA Wide Receiver #17
Robert Meachem will have his knee examined for a potential medial meniscus problem after he missed practices Sunday and Monday.
Meachem has missed portions of OTAs and minicamp with an ankle injury and is now dealing with the knee issue. Coach Sean Payton says the team knew of a “minor” problem before he was drafted. Any surgery would put Meachem seriously behind going into his rookie year.
  • NO Running Back
Aaron Stecker, Lance Moore, Terrance Copper and Robert Meachem were among the players returning kicks at Saints practice Sunday as the team looks to replace Michael Lewis.
Stecker and Copper got some time in the role last season, but it’s an open competition at this point.
  • FA Wide Receiver #87
Devery Henderson wouldn’t say whether he’ll be ready for the Saints’ regular-season opener when asked about his hamstring injury on Tuesday.
Either Terrance Copper, David Patten, or Lance Moore would likely get the start opposite Marques Colston if Henderson can’t go. Robert Meachem may also get consideration if he closes the preseason strong. Henderson has never been an overly durable player and hamstring injuries can linger.
