The 34-year-old righty reliever inked a minor league contract with the Mets back in March and went on to post a bloated 6.04 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 39/16 K/BB ratio across 44 2/3 innings (17 appearances, nine starts) this season for Triple-A Syracuse.

Adleman made 33 starts and 10 relief appearances with Cincinnati between the 2016-2017 seasons before heading to the Korea Baseball Organization. The 31-year-old right-hander owns a 4.97 ERA in 192 career major league innings.

Tim Adleman failed to provide length in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals, surrendering three runs on four hits over five innings.
Adleman struck out six and walked just one on the afternoon. Two of the four hits he allowed left the park, though, putting something of a damper on what might have otherwise been a nice outing. Randal Grichuk burned him for a two-run homer in the second inning and Kolten Wong whacked a solo shot in the fifth. The 28-year-old right-hander will carry a 4.02 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 30/13 K/BB ratio (40 1/3 innings) into a road date with the Pirates next time he toes the rubber.

He’ll take a spot in the Reds’ bullpen with Michael Lorenzen on bereavement leave. Adleman has appeared in four games with the Reds this season and has posted a 2.38 ERA and 38/10 K/BB ratio in 56 2/3 innings over 10 starts in Triple-A.

Reds manager Bryan Price said that Tim Adleman will join the rotation moving forward.
Adleman had pitched to a 2.83 ERA and 38/10 K/BB ratio over 56 2/3 innings in 10 starts for Triple-A Louisville. He has also made four starts for the Reds this season, pitching to a respectable 3.72 ERA with a 16/9 K/BB ratio over 19 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old right-hander does not hold fantasy intrigue unless he starts to put together a string of solid starts.
