    Mets released RHP Trevor Cahill.
Cahill signed a minor league contract with the Mets back in late May and has been cut loose after posting a bloated 6.52 ERA, 2.28 WHIP and 17/19 K/BB ratio across 19 1/3 innings (eight appearances, six starts) this season for Triple-A Syracuse. The 34-year-old veteran righty has made 361 appearances (233 starts) in the majors since 2009. There’s a possibility this is it.

Mets signed RHP Trevor Cahill to a minor league contract.
Cahill really struggled last season with the Pirates but did have some success in 2020 with the Giants while splitting time between the rotation and bullpen. He’ll give the Mets rotation depth at Triple-A Syracuse.

Trevor Cahill fractured his right foot on Friday after falling down the stairs.
The 33-year-old was on the 60-day injured list with a calf injury, so this will obviously set his recovery back quite a bit. Cahill is likely out for the rest of the season at this point.

Trevor Cahill (calf) has started a throwing program.
Cahill has started throwing off flat ground and is slowly working his way back. He’s been out since early June due to a left calf strain. The 33-year-old righty is still a ways off from returning for the Pirates this season.

Pirates transferred RHP Trevor Cahill to the 60-day injured list.
Nothing has changed in Cahill’s recovery progress, this was merely done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Wilmer Difo. Cahill is still receiving treatment for his injured calf and has yet to resume his throwing program.

Pirates placed RHP Trevor Cahill on the 10-day injured list with a left calf strain.
It’s unclear exactly how long he’ll be sidelined, but it sounds like Cahill re-aggravated the calf issue that forced him to miss three weeks last month. The 33-year-old righty has compiled an underwhelming 6.57 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 32/14 K/BB ratio over 37 innings (nine appearances, eight starts) this season.

Pirates activated RHP Trevor Cahill from the 10-day injured list.
Cahill wound up missing around three weeks of action because of a left calf strain. He had struggled to a 6.81 ERA through eight starts this season with Pittsburgh and may be asked to pitch in relief moving forward.

Pirates placed RHP Trevor Cahill on the 10-day injured list with a left calf strain.
Cahill made an early exit from his last start on Wednesday evening and will be out for at least the next week or two. The 33-year-old veteran righty has struggled mightily this season, compiling a calamitous 6.81 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 29/11 K/BB ratio across 35 2/3 innings (eight starts). It’s unclear exactly how long he’ll be sidelined, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll require a lengthy absence.

Trevor Cahill left Wednesday’s game in the second inning with left calf discomfort.
The 33-year-old tossed his glove in frustration to showcase his anger and left the game with the Pirates medical trainer in the second inning. Cahill left the bases loaded upon leaving for reliever Duane Underwood, who allowed all inherited runners to score. Consider the veteran pitcher day-to-day for the time being.
