Chargers promoted CB Trovon Reed from the practice squad.
A 2015 UDFA, Reed gives the Chargers corner depth. His signing suggests Brandon Flowers (concussion) will miss some time.

ESPN Chargers reporter Eric Williams believes CB Trovon Reed “has a good chance to carve out a role on defense in 2017.”
Waived by the Seahawks at final cuts, Reed latched on with the Chargers’ practice squad and was eventually promoted in November, playing 123 defensive snaps in six games. “What he did in such a short period of time was impressive,” GM Tom Telesco said. “He played really good football for us, and I’m looking forward to seeing if he can build on that for this next year.” The top of the depth chart is set with Casey Hayward and Jason Verrett, but Reed seems to have a good chance to win a role in sub packages during camp.

    Seahawks signed CB Trovon Reed.
He was added to the roster along with TE Kyle Carter, who was claimed off waivers from the Giants. This will be Reed’s fourth stint with the Seahawks. The Auburn alum didn’t see the field last year after recording two interceptions with the Chargers in 2016. Even with Seattle needing secondary help, the 27-year-old is a long shot to crack the 53-man roster.

Reed was on the 90-man roster on a reserve/future deal. He is a former undrafted free agent out of Auburn who previously had a stint with the Chargers.
