Falcons signed seventh-round OLB Tyler Starr to a four-year contract.
The Falcons need pass-rush help, and Starr tied the University of South Dakota’s career record for sacks (27). Unfortunately, Starr is a limited athlete (4.94 forty, 9-foot-8 broad jump) and is most likely to help on special teams.

Falcons selected South Dakota OLB Tyler Starr with the No. 255 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Starr drew buzz before the Combine after CBS Sports’ Bruce Feldman reported the edge player was hoping to break the 3-cone record. He did not come close. Starr will likely play a strong-side linebacker role in Mike Nolan’s defense, but will need to make an impact on special teams first.
