The blocking tight end hurt his ankle on a 26-yard touchdown grab last week against Jacksonville. His injury should open up more snaps for Donald Parham, who’s caught two of three targets this season for two touchdowns. Parham should be picked up in deeper tight end premium leagues.

Green’s X-rays reportedly came back negative but he’s still expected to miss “several” weeks. Primarily featured as Los Angeles’ blocking tight end, Green’s absence likely opens the door for former XFL star Donald Parham to slide in for more reps behind Hunter Henry. Parham isn’t viable for re-draft formats just yet, but he has exploded for 2/41/2 on only three targets so far this year.

Green will wrap up the year with nine catches, his fewest since 2014. The pick-to-click once Hunter Henry went down with a tibia fracture, the stout (6'3/249) 92nd-percentile SPARQ specimen still totaled just 3/29 receiving in four interim starts. He’s under contract for $3.5 million in 2020, but may have a shot at starting if Henry isn’t brought back in free agency.

Green isn’t a fantasy factor even when healthy. Lance Kendricks will start if Green is ultimately sidelined. Hunter Henry (knee) is again out, but it appears his return is somewhat near after he was spotted working out in practice this week.

Green missed Week 4. If he returns, it will be to two receptions on the year. Even at an options-starved position, Green lacks a fantasy case.

Green was off the fantasy radar anyway, as Philip Rivers has consistently refrained from targeting backup TEs during Hunter Henry’s (ankle, out) absence.

Green has been a non-factor despite Hunter Henry’s (knee) absence, drawing a DPI on his only target versus the Texans in Week 3. He has a great shot at playing against the Dolphins.

Green isn’t a major factor in the Chargers’ passing game even when healthy. He drew a defensive pass interference penalty on his only target in Week 3 before leaving the game.

Green suffered a groin injury in the third quarter and won’t return. He managed to draw a defensive pass interference penalty, but otherwise wasn’t targeted.

Green made the most of his one pass-catching opportunity, scoring from a yard out on a play where defensive end Melvin Ingram lined up at fullback. That was only Green’s second touchdown of the year and his first since Week 5. He’s signed through 2020, though if Green returns next year, he’ll just be a backup to Hunter Henry.
