A’ja Wilson (head) is doubtful for Friday’s game against the Wings.
Wilson was injured during the third quarter of Wednesday’s loss to the Sparks. While she did not exit the game immediately after getting hit in the face, the three-time MVP would depart with just over a minute remaining in the period. Wilson’s exit led to the Aces going small for longer stretches, with rookie Aaliyah Nye playing additional minutes. Wilson not playing on Friday may also result in recent signing Joyner Holmes playing rotation minutes.
  • Aces signed forward Joyner Holmes.
Having spent parts of the 2021 and 2023 seasons in Las Vegas, winning a championship ring during the latter, Holmes is back with the Aces. She played 27 games off the bench for Seattle in 2024, averaging 2.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.6 minutes. Holmes’ return to Las Vegas coincided with the Aces waiving Crystal Bradford.
  • Aces waived forward Crystal Bradford.
Back in the WNBA for the first time since 2021, Bradford appeared in four games for the Aces this season. The veteran forward averaged six minutes per game in those four appearances, having minimal impact in Las Vegas. The Aces’ decision to waive Bradford coincides with the signing of Joyner Holmes, who appeared in 27 games for the Storm last season and was one of Dallas’ final cuts during the preseason.
  • Wings waived forward Joyner Holmes.
After appearing in 27 games for the Storm in 2024, Holmed agreed to a training camp deal with the Wings in February. She played 19 minutes in Dallas’ two exhibition games, with the team’s frontcourt depth giving Holmes limited odds of making the regular season roster.
