Golden State Valkyries vs Atlanta Dream Game Preview:

The Atlanta Dream defeated the Golden State Valkyries 97-71 in front of a sold-out crowd at State Farm Arena on Wednesday night.

Angel Reese set the tone for the Dream with a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, becoming the youngest player in Finals history to record three straight double-doubles.

“I’m hype all the time and bringing the confidence to everybody,” said Reese, the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year. “Y’all not taking this from us. In my heart, I’m not letting you take this from us. And I think it becomes contagious within the team, and they feel that confidence, too.”

The Dream shot 49% from the field.

Rhyne Howard finished with 16 points, Naz Hillmon with 15, and Isobel Borlase with 12 off the bench.

“This game, they wanted it more than us,” Valkyries guard Tiffany Hayes said. “That’s not who we are. That’s not who we’ve been. That’s not how we got here.”

Golden State just 35% from the field and and conceded 22 points off turnovers.

“We’re resilient,” Head coach Natalie Nakase said. “We’ve done it before. They know that. Again, it’s on my shoulders. I gotta figure out maybe a couple different schemes that could be a little more aggressive. I could be a little more clear, make sure we’re fighting with the right units. This is on me.”

Golden State has prided itself on its defense all season long. For the second straight WNBA Finals game it failed them.
