Free agent LB Zach Brown is visiting the Raiders on Wednesday.
It’s Brown’s first visit of free agency. The former Titans second-rounder never panned out in Tennessee, but he had a big year in the Bills’ 3-4 scheme in 2016, grading out as Pro Football Focus’ No. 12 inside linebacker out of 59 qualifiers, receiving plus marks for both his run defense and coverage. The Raiders’ 2016 starting inside ‘backers, Perry Riley and Malcolm Smith, are both free agents, with Smith already signing with the 49ers. Brown is still just 27.

Free agent LB Zach Brown is “exploring all options.”
Brown has visited Buffalo, Miami and Oakland. He wasn’t close on money with the Dolphins, but hasn’t ruled out signing with any of the teams. 27-year-old Brown is the top linebacker remaining on the market.

The Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero reports free agent LB Zach Brown has narrowed his list down to the Dolphins and Raiders.
The report suggests his visit with the Bills, who he played for last season, did not go well. Salguero points out neither team has met his asking price to this point, so it is possible another team swoops in with a better offer. Brown would be a great get for either team, especially if it comes at a discounted price.

    Cardinals waived LB Zach Brown.
Brown lasted five days with Arizona after being signed last Friday following the Thursday night loss to the 49ers. He didn’t play in a game for the team. Brown will search for his fourth team in the last calendar year.

    Cardinals signed LB Zach Brown.
Brown started all six games for the Eagles after signing with the team in May following his release from the Redskins. The 31-year-old LB provides veteran depth to the Cardinals’ front-seven.

    Eagles released LB Zach Brown.
Brown, 30 next week, started all six games for the Eagles after signing with the team in May following his release from the Redskins. For a player who annually puts up strong numbers, he sure seems to bounce around a lot. Brown is talented, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports he’s expected to have interest from multiple teams. It’s a curious move from the Eagles.

Eagles signed LB Zach Brown, formerly of the Redskins, to a one-year contract.
Released by the Redskins in a salary-cap move in March, it’s somewhat surprising it took this long for Brown to find a new home. Brown doesn’t turn 30 until after the season starts and graded out as Pro Football Focus’ No. 3 off-ball linebacker out of 61 qualifiers last season, behind only Luke Kuechly and Bobby Wagner. After losing Jordan Hicks in free agency, Brown is a quality replacement in the middle of the Eagles’ defense.

    Redskins released ILB Zach Brown.
The move clears $5.75 million in cap room for the Redskins. Brown will turn 30 later this year but remains a productive off-ball linebacker. He graded out as Pro Football Focus’ No. 3 inside linebacker out of 61 qualifiers last season, finishing behind only Luke Kuechly and Bobby Wagner. Washington tried to trade him but found no takers. Brown should find a new home relatively quickly. The Raiders reportedly have some interest.

NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero reports the Redskins are “actively shopping” LBs Zach Brown and Mason Foster.
They are trying to clear cap space to make a run at free agent C.J. Mosley. Brown’s 2018 started off strong, but his playing time declined down the stretch. He will most likely be cut, which would create $5.75 million in cap space while leaving behind $3 million in dead money.

ESPN’s John Keim believes the Redskins will cut LB Zach Brown.
Keim writes it is just a “matter of time.” Owed $6.75 million in 2019, Brown saw his role decrease significantly late last season. Washington will save $5.75 million by showing Brown the door. A good player who does not turn 30 until October, Brown should not have much trouble finding a new team if he is released.
