Williams got in a limited session today. It is his first time practicing since straining his hamstring in Week 2 against the Vikings. According to the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs, Williams could be ramped up in time to face the Falcons in Week 6, depending on how his body responds. Earlier today, we learned that the Bears have not yet determined his expected return date, but a progression plan is in place with specific benchmarks. He should be rostered in 10- and 12-team leagues.
  • MIN Wide Receiver #18
Jefferson practiced on Friday after limited sessions on Thursday and Wednesday. He also insisted that he plans to play when asked earlier this week. We think he’s on the optimistic side of questionable as he returns as close to LSU as he can in the league.
  • LV Running Back #2
Kubiak didn’t get into real specifics about the injury when asked. Mike Washington just found his way into real contingency value and is a worthwhile stash/hedge anywhere he was dropped. Jeanty did not practice Friday after a limited session (and the addition of a foot tag) on Thurdsay, so this certainly doesn’t appear to be heading in the right direction. That said, we knew Jeanty would be managing something after the preseason ankle injury and the Raiders have given out rest days on Friday quite a bit already this year. Jeanty is likely something close to truly questionable.
  • PHI Running Back #26
With Barkley ruled out and Tank Bigsby (core) on injured reserve, the Eagles will officially go with Will Shipley and Dameon Pierce as their top two backs. Shipley feels like a safe bet to serve as the team’s primary pass-catching back, but whether or not he sees the majority of rush attempts is to be determined. It wouldn’t be surprising if Pierce, who profiles as more of an early-down grinder than Shipley, leads the Eagles’ backfield in carries this week, but fantasy managers shouldn’t rush to add him to their lineups. Shipley will likely fall somewhere in the RB2 rankings this week, while Pierce is nothing more than a stash at the end of fantasy benches.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
It was presumed that Nabers would play after sitting out Wednesday with soreness in his surgically repaired knee. Though this is just our speculation, the Giants may take it easier on their star receiver this week after he hauled in 6/112/1 against the Cardinals in Week 4. He remains on the WR2 line in what has been (when not facing the Cardinals) a rough offense with Jameis Winston under center.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Many thanks to Minter for ruling Jackson out now rather than forcing fantasy managers to navigate a questionable designation all weekend. Jackson did not practice at all this week for the Ravens and felt like a near lock to miss this week’s game after it was reported on Tuesday that he had an “outside chance” to play on Sunday night against the Falcons. Minter said earlier in the week that he did not think Jackson’s injury would result in a “crazy long-term” absence, so we’ll see how things go for him next week when the Ravens prepare to face the AFC North-leading Browns in Week 6.
  • CHI Running Back #25
Monangai is currently in a walking boot and is considered week-to-week, per head coach Ben Johnson. Monangai reportedly consulted a specialist for his turf toe after the injury was revealed to be worse than initially expected, but he is not considered a candidate for injured reserve at this time. Backup Roschon Johnson will be elevated to RB2 duties for the foreseeable future, but we wouldn’t expect him to see the same volume as Monangai, who has averaged 15 carries/gm through the Bears’ first four games.
  • WAS Quarterback #5
Daniels appeared to be close to playing in Week 4 against the Colts before ultimately being ruled out. His being upgraded to a full participant in Thursday’s practice suggested he was a virtual lock to start in Week 5, barring any unexpected setbacks. Daniels will wear a brace on his left arm for the rest of the season in hopes of avoiding a three-peat of his dislocated elbow. Daniels will be without Stefon Diggs (hamstring) for Sunday’s game, and rainy/windy conditions are currently in the forecast. We’ll conservatively project him as a mid-to-low-end QB1 in what could be less-than-ideal conditions on Sunday.
  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
Higgins missed the first two practices of the week but was able to get on the field in some capacity on Friday. We would consider him to be truly questionable given his one day of practice, meaning fantasy managers will want to check his official game status when the team announces inactives 90 minutes before kickoff. If he can’t go, Dohnte Meyers, who saw nine targets last week, could be on the fantasy radar as a WR4 in deeper leagues.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Jackson did not practice this week, but head coach Jesse Minter said on Wednesday that his QB1 could still play even if he doesn’t practice. We’ve heard this one too many times when it comes to Jackson and nagging injuries, and it’s not often we see him suit up in these scenarios. His status will be one to keep an eye on when the team releases its final injury report, but even if Jackson is given the questionable tag, we would recommend stashing an emergency option at QB in the event he doesn’t start. Given that the Ravens play on Sunday night, Jackson’s backup, Tyler Huntley, and Falcons starter Michael Penix Jr. would be the most logical stashes as Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen, who play on Monday night, are rostered in nearly every league.
