Ariel Jurado has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Samsung Lions in the Korea Baseball Organization.
The 28-year-old hurler has spent the previous two seasons in Korea as well with the Kiwoom Heroes, most recently posting a 3.36 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 169/32 K/BB ratio across 190 1/3 innings in his 30 starts during the 2024 season. Jurado hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the pandemic-truncated 2020 campaign.

Ariel Jurado has re-signed with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Jurado will take home $1.2 million in 2024, and can earn an additional $100,000 through performance-based incentives. The 27-year-old righty, who hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the pandemic-truncated 2020 campaign, posted a 2.65 ERA, 1.12 WHOP and 147/41 K/BB ratio across 183 2/3 innings (30 starts) this past season in his Korean debut.

Ariel Jurado has signed with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Jurado, 26, gets $850,000 from the Heroes, and can make another $150,000 in incentives. The right-hander registered a 3.54 ERA over 53 1/3 innings with Triple-A St. Paul last season after missing all of 2021 while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Twins signed RHP Ariel Jurado to a minor league contract.
Jurado last appeared in the majors with the Mets during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, making just one relief appearance. The 26-year-old righty holds a lackluster 5.97 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 105/54 K/BB ratio across 181 innings (47 appearances, 27 starts) in the majors since 2018. He’ll provide the Twins with some organizational pitching depth.

    Mets non-tendered RHP Ariel Jurado.
A former top prospect for the Rangers, Jurado has not had success at the highest level, and allowed five runs over four innings in his only appearance of 2020. The 24-year-old may see a market from teams hoping he can find the stuff that made him an intriguing hurler a few short years ago.

  • INT Starting Pitcher #49
Mets optioned RHP Ariel Jurado to their alternate training site.
This is part of a flurry of moves for the Mets as they add trade acquisitions Todd Frazier, Miguel Castro, and Robinson Chirinos to their active roster. Jurado allowed five runs over four innings Tuesday versus the Orioles.

  • INT Starting Pitcher #49
Making his Mets debut, Ariel Jurado was tagged for five runs and nine hits in four innings by the Orioles on Tuesday.
It’s supposed to be a spot start for Jurado, who is better equipped to help a team as a middle reliever. He could return to the Alternate Site for now.

  • INT Starting Pitcher #49
Mets recalled RHP Ariel Jurado from their alternate training site.
Jurado will make his Mets debut in a start against the Orioles on Tuesday. This should be viewed as a spot-start and he’s not likely to stick around for long. He’s not a fantasy option.

  • INT Starting Pitcher #49
Ariel Jurado will start for the Mets on Tuesday against the Orioles in Baltimore.
Jurado was acquired from the Rangers last month and this will be his debut for the Mets. The 24-year-old had some success out of the bullpen last year, but he holds an ugly 6.38 ERA over 26 starts in the majors and can be ignored in fantasy leagues. That is, unless you want to stack Orioles hitters against him.

  • INT Starting Pitcher #49
Mets recalled RHP Ariel Jurado from their alternate training site.
Jurado will be the team’s 29th man for Sunday’s doubleheader versus the Yankees. He was acquired from the Rangers in a trade earlier this month.
